The Warren Woods Nature Park extends across 46 acres of native woodland and was opened to the public in 2011. Linking with Kings Hill history as a medieval woodland and rich hunting ground. With footpaths and picnic areas, it’s now a delightful natural space for walkers and for children to play. Coupled with Kings Hill renowned Sports Park a broad range of sporting and relaxing activities can be found for each individual.
Kings Hill originally used to be a hunting ground used by Royals in the Middle Ages, before beginning it’s aviation history as a vital emergency landing strip in the first World War. RAF West Malling utilised Kings Hill as an aerodrome after 1941, because of its proximity and flat terrain. Historic sites include The Control Tower, a Type 24 pillbox, Picketts-Hamilton Fort and Churchill Square.
The village offers two primary schools, with good transport links to West Malling and Tonbridge for secondary education. The village has proudly established its own cricket club and football club, encouraging young people and residents to take part in local sporting opportunities. Kings Hill Golf Course spans over 200 acres, and is locally available to the residents of Kings Hill. Designed by course architect David Williams, it is the driest inland course in the county of Kent.
With great bus links to Maidstone, Tonbridge, Tonbridge Wells, Chatham and Gillingham, the quaint village of Kings Hill is never too far away from the larger towns. Commuters can experience the village lifestyle with a city career, with accessible connections to London, Maidstone and Ashford. Keep fit with the David Lloyd Leisure health club, and enjoy scenic walks and landscapes across Manor Farm Country Park.
