The villages around Ashford are both diverse and steeped in history bringing an historic yet contemporary feel.

There are so many great areas to live in Ashford, so we have comprised a list of our favourite villages that will steal your heart just like they have ours.

 Ashford Travel Links

Ashford is one of the fastest growing locations in the country as more and more people realise the convenience of the area. Sandy beaches, conservation areas, European destinations and London are all very accessible. Canterbury the historic English cathedral city is a short drive away to the north.

You can get from Ashford to London St Pancras in 34 minutes, making Ashford an ideal transport link for commuters, or for those who frequently visit London. The Ashford London commute was once coveted as London’s ‘most envied commuter route’ – the easy journey really does take the stress out of travelling to and from London. Travelling by car in Ashford is just as convenient as you’ll be close to both Junction 9 and 10 of the M20.

Where can I go for shopping and entertainment?

Families and friends flock from all over to visit the McArthur Glen designer outlet for discounted designer brands as well as Ashford town centre’s county square. The outlet is pretty handy if you have expensive tastes but are reluctant to fork out the full price for top brands, such as Tommy Hilfiger, Jaeger and Kurt Geiger. You can get up to 60% off the RRP, so if you’re looking for designer labels at affordable prices, Ashford Outlet is your go-to shopping centre.

If the high street is more your style, you can visit the town’s centrally located shopping centre, Country Square. The high street, which boasts an array of stores such as Debenhams, M&S, Boots and Next to list a few, is perfect for shopaholics of all tastes!

Ashford also offers an array of entertainment for the young and old, from the Cineworld cinema, Battlezone entertainment centre and the numerous bars, clubs and restaurants to choose from. The town also caters for adrenaline junkies who can experience off-roading at one of many centres or fly off high in the sky in a hot air balloon and take in the beauty of Kent. You’ll find that these areas are located away from residential areas to give you the best of both worlds.

Things to do in Ashford

In the most recent official resident’s survey in 2014, the overwhelming majority (90%) of residents said they were satisfied with the local area and it’s not difficult to see why. There is so much to do – it’s far from a sleepy commuter town!

Whether you’re a shopaholic or love long walks, Ashford has something for everyone.

Are you a football or a rugby lover? Ashford United Football Club and Ashford Rugby Football Club are two great venues located in Ashford, ideal if you’re looking to watch some local community events or get involved with some annual sporting activities!
