Ashford Travel Links
Ashford is one of the fastest growing locations in the country as more and more people realise the convenience of the area. Sandy beaches, conservation areas, European destinations and London are all very accessible. Canterbury the historic English cathedral city is a short drive away to the north.
You can get from Ashford to London St Pancras in 34 minutes, making Ashford an ideal transport link for commuters, or for those who frequently visit London. The Ashford London commute was once coveted as London’s ‘most envied commuter route’ – the easy journey really does take the stress out of travelling to and from London. Travelling by car in Ashford is just as convenient as you’ll be close to both Junction 9 and 10 of the M20.
Where can I go for shopping and entertainment?
Families and friends flock from all over to visit the McArthur Glen designer outlet for discounted designer brands as well as Ashford town centre’s county square. The outlet is pretty handy if you have expensive tastes but are reluctant to fork out the full price for top brands, such as Tommy Hilfiger, Jaeger and Kurt Geiger. You can get up to 60% off the RRP, so if you’re looking for designer labels at affordable prices, Ashford Outlet is your go-to shopping centre.
If the high street is more your style, you can visit the town’s centrally located shopping centre, Country Square. The high street, which boasts an array of stores such as Debenhams, M&S, Boots and Next to list a few, is perfect for shopaholics of all tastes!
Ashford also offers an array of entertainment for the young and old, from the Cineworld cinema, Battlezone entertainment centre and the numerous bars, clubs and restaurants to choose from. The town also caters for adrenaline junkies who can experience off-roading at one of many centres or fly off high in the sky in a hot air balloon and take in the beauty of Kent. You’ll find that these areas are located away from residential areas to give you the best of both worlds.

In the most recent official resident’s survey in 2014, the overwhelming majority (90%) of residents said they were satisfied with the local area and it’s not difficult to see why. There is so much to do – it’s far from a sleepy commuter town!

Places like Godinton House & Gardens, the Willesborough Windmill, Ashford Museum, Eastwell Manor spa hotel to name but a few. We have plenty of natural beauty right on the door step of the town such as the Kent Downs an area of outstanding natural beauty, The Weald Of Kent’s farm’s, woodland and expansive countryside are all around the area. To the south of the town you can find historic churches, tales of smugglers and breathe taking views towards the Romney Marsh.
You’re also in the prime location for a day at the seaside with the likes of Folkestone, Hythe, Dymchurch, and Greatstone only a stone’s throw away. Having the countryside and coast on your doorstep, you really are spoilt for choice.
